iphone sky diary

I am looking up at the sky and my body imagines it's wrapped in one of the soft clouds covering the space above. My muscles relax and I close my eyes. I am no longer a small spec on the earth, but I am infinite, flying above, watching down. My fingers touch the abundance of colours bursting in every direction. My eyes follow the vapour trails until they disappear into the air. I'm breathing slowly and my mind is happy.

Then it is now. The nights are drawing in early and I am watching the twinkling fairy lights around the walls of my bedroom. My eyes blur and I see snow falling from a deep grey sky. I see orange, yellow, brown leaves scattered on the ground, blowing gently in the breeze. I am in the sky looking down at the sharp, bare branches of trees suffocated in leaves by it's roots. Everything is magical and I am wrapped up in my coat with gloves warming my fingers and a hat covering my ears.

  2. That the sky is capable of such colors never ceases to amaze me. I love how different they all can be, even though the sky is the same. Incredible. Your words are like wine. I could get drunk off your delicious words.

  3. I'm guilty of taking far too many pictures of the sky. I always say that when you grow tired of the sky you see from a certain place, you need to get out of there fast. It's so massive, it seems so close and yet it's so far away. Can you imagine all the planets and stars and black holes out there? This is crazy. I love this. I love everything somehow when I think about it.
